The invention relates to 3-aryluracils of formula (I), wherein W is a group of formula (a) or (b), in which the linkage to the ring nitrogen atom is through the carbon atom: R1 is hydrogen, C1-C4alkyl, C1-C4haloalkyl, C3- or C4alkenyl or C3- or C4alkynyl; R2 is halogen or cyano; R3 is hydrogen or fluoro; R4 is hydrogen, halogen or C1-C4alkyl; R5 is C1-C4alkyl or C1-C4haloalkyl; R6 to R9 are each independently of one another hydrogen, C1-C4alkyl, C3-C6alkenyl, C3-C6alkynyl, C1-C4haloalkyl or phenyl; or R6 and R7 or R8 and R9, together with the linking carbon atom, form a 3-, 4-, 5- or 6-membered ring which may be substituted by one or more C1-C4alkyl groups; or R7 and R9, together with the linking carbon atoms, form a 3-, 4-, 5- or 6-membered ring which may be substituted by one or more C1-C4alkyl groups; m is 0 or 1; R10 is hydrogen, C1-C4alkyl, C3- or C4alkenyl, C3- or C4alkynyl, C1-C4haloalkyl, C1-C6alkoxy-C1-C4alkyl, C1-C6alkylthio-C1-C4alkyl; R11 is hydrogen, C1-C4alkyl, C3- or C4alkenyl, C3-C5alkynyl, C1-C4haloalkyl, C1-C6alkoxy, C1-C6alkenyloxy, C1-C6alkoxy-C1-C4alkyl, C1-C6alkylthio-C1-C4alkyl, C3-C6cycloalkyl, C2-C4cyanoalkyl, C1-C4alkoxycarbonyl-C1- or -C2alkyl, carboxy-C1- or -C2alkyl, (C1-C4alkoxy)2-P(O)-C1- or -C2alkyl, aryl, aryl-C1-C4alkyl, heteroaryl, heteroaryl-C1-C4alkyl, C3-C6cycloalkyl-C1-C4alkyl; or R10 and R11, together with the linking nitrogen atom, form a 4-, 5-, 6- or 7-membered ring which may be substituted by one or more C1-C4alkyl groups and which may contain -O-, -S- or -NH- as further hereto atoms; and R12 is C1-C4alkyl, C3- or C4alkenyl or C3- or C4alkynyl; and, if R1 is hydrogen, the agrochemically acceptable salts of the compounds of formula (I). The compounds are suitable for use as active ingredients of herbicidal compositions for weed control.
