PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the own vehicle position highly accurately even when the state where reception of a signal from a GPS satellite is difficult continues. SOLUTION: When a dashed-line lane mark is laid on a traveling road where the own vehicle is traveling, an image including the dashed-line lane mark is photographed by an in-vehicle camera, and the dashed-line interval of the dashed-line lane mark is measured by performing image recognition processing of the image photographed by the in-vehicle camera, and the number of unit lines passed by the own vehicle is counted. Then, a mileage of the own vehicle is calculated based on the dashed-line interval of the dashed-line lane mark and the number of passed unit lines, and the own position is corrected based on the calculated mileage.
