PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of driving an inkjet head that can prevent or eliminate rising of a viscosity of ink in the vicinity of an ink meniscus by using a normal circuit mechanism for driving a piezoelectric inkjet head without complicating the circuit mechanism and without ejecting an ink droplet from a tip of a nozzle during the standby time for forming a dot, and can prevent disturbance in ejection of an ink droplet, particularly when ejecting an ink droplet after a long standby condition and defective ejection of an ink droplet due to clogging in the nozzle. SOLUTION: In the standby time, a drive voltage having a pulse width roughly in conformity with a natural oscillation cycle of a volume velocity of ink is applied to a piezoelectric element at a dot forming section not ejecting an ink droplet. As a result, the ink in the nozzle is mixed with ink in a pressurizing chamber without ejecting an ink droplet from the tip of the nozzle. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
