PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform gradation conversion in accepted image data based on a predetermined dither matrix, and to perform meshing processing on the image data after gradation conversion. SOLUTION: A conversion result judging unit 12 judges occurrence of dot omission in image data after meshing processing; and if it is decided from a result of the decision due to the conversion result deciding unit 12 that the dot omission is equal to or more than a predetermined amount, a halftone change unit 13 changes the dither matrix. Gradation conversion is then performed again on the accepted image data and meshing processing is performed on the image data, after the gradation conversion. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
