摘要 <p>Claimed is a process to control the operation of a robotic laser welding beam system (100) for the assembly of automotive body panels from sections. The robotic arm (101) has a scanner head (102), or is operated as an external stationary tool. The scanner head has a mirror to position the laser beam on the workpiece (200). The laser welding system incorporates time-critical functions operated by programmable logic controls (104). The time critical functions include control of the scanning mirror, the laser beam power, workpiece clamp, robotic arm manipulation. Further claimed is a commensurate robotic welding assembly.</p>
