PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep a light intensity difference between illumination lights low with a simple configuration and prevent overexposure and underexposure.SOLUTION: A light source device for endoscope comprises: a white light source that emits a white light flux including first and second wavelength regions; and a rotary filter that alternately draws a first illumination light and a second illumination light from the white light flux. The rotary filter comprises: a rotating plate that has first and second filter regions arranged in a circumferential direction; and a rotation driving part that rotates the rotating plate so that the first illumination light and the second illumination light switch in accordance with imaging timing. The light source device draws the first and second illumination lights from the white light flux and then emits them in the first and second filter regions. A circumferential size of the second filter region is set so that amplitude of an imaging signal to be output from an imaging element when imaging a subject illuminated by the first illumination light becomes approximately equal to that of an imaging signal to be output from the imaging element when imaging the subject illuminated by the second illumination light.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
