The device has a storage container and a heat exchanger, which are both integrated in one double-walled container (2). The space in the double wall forms a heat exchanger space, which includes at least one tube spiral (1) carrying fresh water. A separate tubular inside wall (3) within the container forms the double wall in conjunction with the container wall and thus divides the container into a heat exchange space (9) and an effluent space (5). The inner and outer walls lie directly next to the tube spiral, so that the space left between the spiral forms at least one spiral effluent channel. At least one hydraulic connection between the effluent channel and the heat exchanger channel (8) guides the effluent from the storage container to the channel in the heat exchanger, to circulate around the tube spiral. The heat exchanger space has at least one effluent outlet (15), arranged so that the effluent leaves the heat exchanger after it has circulated about the tube spiral.
