PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a fuel economy enhance effect by maintaining a lock-up state of a lock-up clutch, to prevent perfect engine stop on sudden braking and to keep good balance of them so that they are optimized for different road surface frictions (coefficientsμ). SOLUTION: For this purpose, in the lock-up control device for conducting lock-up control along with fuel cut of an engine in deceleration, the lock-up control device has a first determination value and a second determination value which is smaller than the first determination value. The lock-up control device determines sudden deceleration when an amount of change of a turbine rotation number is less than the first determination value and starts recovery from the fuel cut. The lock-up control device determines to be a lowμroad when the amount of change in the turbine rotation number is less than the second determination value and delays release of the lock-up clutch for a predetermined period of time. The lock-up control device determines to be a highμroad when the amount of change in the turbine rotation number is less than the first determination value and equal to or more than the second determination value and controls so that the lock-up clutch is released.
