METHOD FOR PREDICTING RECURRENCE AND METASTASES IN PATIENTS WITH CANCER OF LARYNX

A method for predicting the recurrence and metastases in the patients with cancer of larynx comprises assaying the activity of proteinases and their inhibitors in the malignant tissue prior to the beginning of the treatment. The total proteolytic and elastolytic activity, the content of-macroglobuline (proteinase inhibitor) and the content of fibrinogen are measured in blood plasma of the patients. The high levels of proteolysis and fibrinogen content with low level of-macroglobuline content are suggestive of the recurrence and metastases in the patients with cancer of larynx.
