PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam modification catalyst sufficiently hardly generating caulking even under environment without oxygen gas existed or a condition with low molar ratio of steam and carbon (S/C), maintaining high activity even with exposed to high temperature and capable of modifying fuel consisting of hydrocarbons by steam efficiently.SOLUTION: There is provided a steam modification catalyst for modifying fuel consisting of hydrocarbons by steam having a composite oxide carrier containing alumina, ceria and zirconia and rare earth oxide other than ceria, at least one kind of first metal element selected from a group consisting of platinum metal carried on the composite oxide carrier and having surface composition of aluminum (at%) by an X ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) of the composite oxide carrier of 1.5 times as composition of aluminum (at%) of the whole composite oxide carrier.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
