PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low cost, reliable system and method for distributing data, operating parameters and/or software updated to widely distributed equipment.SOLUTION: Used is a carrier, such as a battery 1315, 1330, 1340, which queries a memory of a charger 1310, 1335 or charging circuit, or the memory of equipment 1320, 1345 powered by the battery or discharging circuit, to determine the relative date or version of data, operating parameters and software on both the battery and the equipment, and which either provides updated data, operating parameters and software to the equipment, or retrieves later dated data, operating parameters and software from the equipment to update the memory of the battery and/or further distribute the updated data, operating parameters and/or software to other batteries or equipment.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
