PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a form misfeed detection method and a device using this method, which improve the performance and the reliability of a facsimile equipment, a copying machine, or the like by reducing the frequency in operation-stop occurrence of the equipment due to the occurrence of errors caused by form misfeeding. SOLUTION: With respect to facsimile equipment, paper feed operation is repeated with a predetermined frequency (three times) as the upper limit till normal feed of a document 1 if misfeed of the document 1 is detected, and paper feed operation is repeated with a frequency predetermined according to the cassette of a recording form (two or three times) or a frequency predetermined according to the classification like the size or the material of the recording form (2 to 4 times) as the upper limit till normal feed of the recording form 101, if misfeeding of the recording form 10 is detected. If misfeeding is detected even after the last paper feed operation of the predetermined frequency, it is decided that misfeeding has occurred, and operation of the equipment is stopped and a misfeed error is reported and displayed. |
