PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape measuring machine capable of preventing flaw occurrable in an objective place. SOLUTION: An air cylinder 61 is fixed to a measuring machine body 23, and an operation shaft 63 of a cylinder 62 is extended to the opposite side to a gauge head 32. An L-shaped bracket 65 is fixed to the operation shaft 63 via a damper 64, and is fixed to a connection plate 22. A folded-shaped transmission passage for transmitting an operation force of the operation shaft 63 to the gauge head 32 is formed of the operation shaft 63 extended from the air cylinder 61, the L-shaped bracket 65, the connection plate 22, and a support arm 21, and the gauge head 32 is constituted so as to be energized to a cam surface of a camshaft. The air cylinder 61 is constituted by a non-sealing type air cylinder allowing relief of air pressure, and the air is discharged from a slight clearance between a communication hole of the air cylinder 61 and the operation shaft 63.
