A consumer pack (28) with flexible outerwrap (14) around the pack (28) has a tear tape (16) between the pack (28) and the outerwrap (14) for separating the outerwrap (14) into upper (30) and lower (32) portions when the consumer pack (28) is opened. A multi-layer aromatic strip (12) is positioned on an outer surface of the outerwrap (14) just outside the tear tape (16), and the aromatic strip (12) is secured thereto by an adhesive layer (24). The aromatic strip (12) includes a fibrous substrate (22) soaked with fragrance and an outer barrier surface (20) that seals in the fragrance. When the tear tape (16) separates the outerwrap (14) into upper (30) and lower (32) portions, the outer barrier surface (20) and the fibrous substrate (22) are broken open to release fragrance to the surroundings. |
