The invention relates to a mechanical connection for panels, having the following characteristics: a) the panels (1, 2) have a horizontal connection and a vertical connection on the edge sides (5, 10) thereof to be connected to one another, wherein the first panel (1) to be positioned first engages underneath the second panel (2) to be subsequently positioned for horizontal locking, and for vertical locking a locking edge (8) is arranged on the first panel (1) and a spring (6) is arranged on the second panel (2), which spring can be moved behind the locking edge (8); b) the spring (6) has a foot (16) arranged in a retaining groove (7) and a head (17) which at least partially protrudes from the retaining groove (7) and is connected in an articulated manner with the foot (16), wherein the head (17) has a locking arm (19) pointing towards the upper side (4) of the second panel (2) for swivelling behind the locking edge (8), and has a lever (20) pointing towards the underside (3) of the second panel (2) for swivelling the locking arm (19), wherein the head (17) is connected to the foot (16) in a region between the locking arm (19) and the lever (20), and wherein, before the placing of the second panel (2), a free lower end of the lever (20) is at a distance from the second panel (2) and a free upper end of the locking arm (19) is in contact with the second panel (2); c) the first panel (1) has a guide surface with which the lever (20) can be engaged during placing, in order to swivel the lever (20) in the direction of the second panel (2) about the joint (18), and to move the upper end of the locking arm (19) away from the second panel (2) behind the locking edge (8) by means of the lever (20). |
