Piece of seating furniture, fitting therefor, and operating method. The invention relates primarily to a piece of seating furniture (1) having a leg-rest unit (30) which can be transferred between a first use state, with the leg-rest unit (30) pivoted into a stowage position, and a second use state, with the leg-rest unit (30) pivoted out into a functional position, wherein the piece of seating furniture (1) comprises, as its main components, a base (12), a seat unit (20) with a seat surface, wherein the seat unit (20) can be displaced along a first movement path in relation to the base (12), and the leg-rest unit (30) with the leg-rest surface, wherein the leg-rest unit (30) can be pivoted along a second movement path between the stowage position, beneath the seat unit (20), and the functional position, in front of the seat unit (20). The invention provides a spring device (50, 150, 250), wherein the spring device (50; 150) is relieved of stressing as the piece of seating furniture (1) is transferred from the first use state into the second use state and is subjected to stressing as said piece of furniture is transferred from the second use state into the first use state, wherein, for at least one defined pivoting angle of the leg-rest unit (30), the spring energy stored in the spring device (50; 150) when the leg-rest unit (30) has been pivoted out differs from the spring energy stored in the spring device when the leg-rest unit (30) has been pivoted in, or wherein the spring device (250) is first of all relieved of stressing and then subjected to stressing as the piece of seating furniture (1) is transferred from the first use state into the second use state. |
