PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a constant velocity universal joint capable of easily realizing weight reduction and miniaturization by reducing the outer diameter of a joint outer ring with a simple means. SOLUTION: The constant velocity universal joint comprises a joint outer ring 21 having a plurality of track grooves 22 in the inner diameter, and a joint inner ring having track grooves in the outer diameter correspondingly to the track grooves 22 of the joint outer ring 21. The joint comprises a plurality of balls that are interposed between the joint outer ring 21 and the joint inner ring, are arranged in a ball track formed by cooperation of respective track grooves, and transmit torque, and a retainer having a pocket for holding the balls. The joint comprises a plurality of car body mounting flanges 23 that are arranged separately in the circumference direction of the outer diameter of the joint outer ring 21 and project partially in the radial direction. The outer diameter shape of the joint outer ring 21 is molded in a flower shape along the inner diameter shape, and the car body mounting flanges 23 are disposed in the outer diameter recessed parts 25 positioned between the track grooves 22 of the joint outer ring 21.
