PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately calculate a cylinder-by-cylinder air-fuel ratio by eliminating the complexity of modeling by using a simple model. SOLUTION: An air-fuel ratio deviation calculated by an air-fuel ratio deviation calculation part 21 is inputted into a cylinder-by-cylinder air-fuel ratio estimating part 24 to estimate the cylinder-by-cylinder air-fuel ratio in the cylinder-by-cylinder air-fuel ratio estimating part 24. In the cylinder-by-cylinder air-fuel ratio estimating part 24, by noting gas exchange in the exhaust collecting part 12b of the exhaust manifold 12, the detection value of an A/F sensor 13 is modeled as one obtained by multiplying specified weights by the history of the cylinder-by-cylinder air-fuel ratio of an inflow gas in the exhaust collecting part 12b and the history of the A/F sensor 13 and adding them to each other, and the cylinder-by-cylinder air-fuel ratio is estimated based on the model.
