PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration control device capable of supporting vertical force applied on an axial direction of a pillar and efficiently reducing vibration in a horizontal direction, and provide a unit building and a building using the same. SOLUTION: Damping members 12 with horizontal rigidity smaller than those of a pair of pillars 21, 22 are arranged so as to be sandwiched respectively between an upper member 21a and a lower member 21b of the first pillar 21, and between an upper member 22a and a lower member 22b of a second pillar 22. The vertical force applied on a frame can be supported by the damping members 12, and interlaminar deformation of the building at an earthquake can be directly and efficiently transmitted to an oil damper 11.
