<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device thinned while suppressing reduction in luminance and high in resistance to vibration and impact with a secondary mirror hardly falling off, and to provide a projector. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device 10 includes: an arc tube 20 having a tubular bulb part 21 and sealing parts 22a, 22b; a reflector 30 having a reflecting part 32 with the deleted shape of one side when cut at a plane S2, and a base part 34 extended along the sealing part 22b; the secondary mirror 40 having a reflecting part 42 arranged on the opposite side to the reflector 30 and arranged to face the tubular bulb part 21, and a fixed part 44 extended along the sealing part 22b; and an adhesive C disposed between the sealing part 22b and the base part 34 to stick the arc tube 20 to the reflector 30 and disposed between the sealing part 22b and the fixed part 44 to stick the arc tube 20 to the secondary mirror 40.
