摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of laminating crystals to obtain a thick polarization inversion crystal while preventing misalignment in the period of polarization inversion. SOLUTION: A plurality of nonlinear optical crystals each having a periodical polarization inversion structure with an identical inversion patterns are prepared, and the crystals are laminated to obtain a thick polarization inversion crystal. In this process, the opposite face to the laminating face of the crystal is subjected to visualization treatment by etching to form a relief of the polarization inversion structure, and then the crystals are laminated and fixed while the polarization inversion structure is observed. Since the periodical polarization inversion structure can be observed, the crystals are easily aligned. Since the laminating faces are smooth, good workability for lamination is obtained.</p>
