The invention relates to a refining assembly for refining aqueously suspended pulp fibers between two refining surfaces (2, 3), which form a refining gap (1) and rotate in relation to each other and are formed by refining bars (4) and grooves (5) extending therebetween, wherein the refining bars (4) extend radially with respect to the axis of rotation (6) at least by means of the essential direction component. The efficiency should be improved in that the distance of the radially inner end of all refining bars (4) of at least one refining surface from the axis of rotation (6) differs among said refining bars by at most 10%, with respect to the radial maximum length of the refining bars (4), and some of the refining bars (4) split radially outward. |
