摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering control device for a vehicle and a steering control method for a vehicle that can appropriately control a steering motor relative to steering operation by a driver even when torque fluctuation occurs in a torque transmission path.SOLUTION: On the basis of a value that is obtained by inputting a virtual steering angle obtained by adding a virtual displacement angle to a steering angle to a universal joint output angle calculation model, a virtual pinion angle of a universal joint is calculated. A pinion angle deviation is calculated by subtracting, from the virtual pinion angle, a current pinion angle that is calculated based on a value obtained by inputting the steering angle to the universal joint output angle calculation model. An input/output torque ratio is calculated, on the basis of a ratio between the steering angle input to the universal joint on the basis of a ratio between the pinion angle deviation and the virtual displacement angle and an output angle output from the universal joint on the basis of the input steering angle. On the basis of the input/output torque ratio and steering torque applied to a steering wheel, a command value of assist torque is calculated.
