PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle steering control device and a vehicle steering control method that can appropriately control a SBW system even though a steering wheel is steered while turning off an ignition switch.SOLUTION: The vehicle steering control device comprises: a clutch angle deviation calculation portion 70 that when a clutch state switching portion 64 switches a clutch to a connection state, calculates a clutch angle deviation that is a deviation between a steering-side clutch angle calculated by a steering-side clutch angle calculation portion 66 and a turning-side clutch angle calculated by a turning-side clutch angle calculation portion 68; and a turning angle calculation portion 76 that when an ignition switch is turned on, calculates the turning angle of a turning wheel on the basis of a changed angle, into which a turning-side clutch angle for calculation of a turning angle, obtained by addition of the clutch angle deviation to the steering-side clutch angle, is changed via a turning-side universal joint, before the clutch state switching portion 64 switches the clutch to an opening state. |
