PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radio receiving a method and a radio receiver which receives, without truncation even in a fringe area and obtains power saving effect. SOLUTION: A receiving part performs a receiving operation in a frequency designated by a control part 3. A detecting part 2 detects signals based on a detection level prescribed for receiving signals. The part 3 sets the frequency of the receiving operation to a part 1 and controls an intermittent operation of a power supply part 4 based on a detection signal (b) of the part 2. The part 2 discriminates a strong electric field, a weak electric field and non-electric field of radio propagation according to the received signal. The part 3 controls the part 4 to come to a continuous receiving state in the strong field, and to come to a down time or an intermittent receiving state in the weak field where a cycle is short, and to come to a down time or an intermittent receiving state where a cycle is long. |
