PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device where image formation can be carried out by utilizing a spare recording material even when a recording material is at an end or near the end. SOLUTION: This image forming device is composed of an operating part 1, an ADF(automatic document reading mechanism) part 2, a scanner/IPU part 3, a printer control part 4, a sorter 5, a main control part 6, a bank part 7, a FAX part 8 and a switch 9. The main control part 6 controls the device so that the residual quantity of a toner color that is a 1st priority color is detected by a toner end sensor in the FAX part 8, when the residual quantity of the 1st priority color is at the end or near the end, the residual quantity of a 2nd priority output color is detected, output is executed when the output is possible and when not possible, the residual quantity information of each of a 3rd and a 4th color and so on is detected. In the case all output colors are judged to be at a toner end or near end state after detecting the residual quantity of all the output colors, a selection picture to prompt the selection of the output color is displayed for a user and productivity is improved by carrying out control so that output is carried out by the specified toner color. |
