The invention relates to the assembly of vehicle body components using a geometry box (1) and clamping frames (7, 8). A multipart clamping frame (8a, 8b) is used at least for the larger components (9, 10), more particularly for the side wall parts of the vehicle body. The component (9, 10) is held with a clamping frame part and is fed to the geometry box (1), whilst the other clamping frame part is fed empty. Using the two clamping frame parts, the component (9, 10) is then fixed in position by means of positioning and securing devices acting between the geometry box (1) and the clamping frames (7, 8) such that the components (6, 9, 10) that are to be joined to one another can be joined, in particular welded. |
