Topically applicable cosmetic/pharmaceutical compositions contain at least one retinoid and at least one anti-irritant compound selected from among the salts of 18beta-glycyrrhetinic acid and derivatives thereof, and are useful for the treatment and/or prevention of a dermatological condition or affliction related to a disorder of keratinization relating to cell differentiation and to cell proliferation, e.g. acne vulgaris.
