PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately set a time of process in accordance with the kind of detergent.SOLUTION: A washing machine includes: a pulsator 46; driving means 48; a water supply valve 70; a drainage duct 75 connected to a connection duct 53 provided in the bottom part of an outer tank 43; turbidity detecting means 92 provided at the drainage duct 75 and detecting turbidity of wash liquid by the degree of transmission of infrared ray; and control means for controlling operation of the driving means 48 or the like and successively controlling a series of steps of washing, rinsing, and spin-drying. The control means detects tap water turbidity and wash liquid turbidity by the turbidity detection means 92 in the washing process, and when it is determined to be a liquid detergent, prolongs a time for washing and shortens a time for rinsing. Thus, time reduction of the process and energy saving are achievable. |
