PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine having a lid made of a transparent material and having a foldable lid structure, the lid having an increased strength.SOLUTION: A lid body vertically opened/closed is disposed substantially at the center of a top cover covering the top of a washing machine body. The lid body includes: a front lid 40 formed of a transparent member and a rear lid 42 formed of a transparent member, wherein the front and rear lids are configured to be foldable through a pivotal structure; and a front lid stiffening plate 41 disposed on the back side of the front lid 40 and a rear lid stiffening plate 44 disposed on the back side of the rear lid 42. The front lid stiffening plate 41 is formed of an opaque member. The rear lid stiffening plate 44 is formed of an opaque member and formed with an opening 43 in the center. The opening has a peripheral edge formed with a continuous flat, plate-shaped rib to be fitted to the outer periphery of the rear lid. Accordingly, the rear lid body has an increased rigidity in a twisting direction, and corresponds to a strong force or rough operation in lid opening/closing operation. |
