PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for culturing an edible mushroom which is capable of treating large quantities of coffee grouts, by using a medium comprising the coffee grouts as a main material. SOLUTION: The method for culturing the edible mushroom comprises culture of the edible mushroom by inoculating the seed fungi of the edible mushrooms to the medium comprising 60-97% of the coffee grouts containing 60-80% of water, 3-20% of a source of nutrition for the mushroom, wherein the medium is previously subjected to a pretreatment for suppressing growth of competitive fungi.
