The present invention relates to a barium sulfate whisker and a preparation method therefor. Specifically, the present invention utilizes effects that an electric field and a polymorph control agent have on the growth of barium sulfate crystals to prepare the barium sulfate whisker. The barium sulfate whisker not only are provided with excellent weather resistance and aging resistance, but also are capable of enhancing the abrasion resistance and impact resistance of a product, thus significantly increasing the ductility of the product. The preparation method is simple, inexpensive, and easy for industrial production.
