<p>A method of game design provides an ontologoical model that may be defined using a game markup language (GML) . The model may be built by parsing game design documents (40), identifying and tagging game elements (41) and storing the tagged elements in the model as ontological elements (42). Alternatively, the model may be built by the designer in the markup language. The game designer inputs relationships, using a visual interface and the relationships are stored (44) as references between the ontological elements. The model may be optimised by manipulation (45) using the visual interface, including using queries, and further optimised by automatic compilation and optimisation using the references (46) . This may be iterated before building the game using the model (47).</p> |
