The purpose of the present invention is to provide a binder composition for lithium ion secondary battery electrodes, which is capable of providing a slurry composition with excellent high-speed coating workability by enhancing the dispersibility of the slurry composition, while suppressing foaming of the slurry composition. A binder composition according to the present invention contains an adhesive polymer, a diphenyl ether surfactant, an alkylbenzenesulfonic acid surfactant and a solvent. In this connection, this binder composition has a THF gel content of from 70% by mass to 95% by mass (inclusive); the THF dissolved components have a weight average molecular weight of from 5,000 to 40,000 (inclusive); and the ratio of the amount of the diphenyl ether surfactant blended therein to the amount of the alkylbenzenesulfonic acid surfactant blended therein is from 1/9 to 9 (inclusive).
