<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the carrier structure for exhaust gas cleaning catalyst to form exhaust gas paths along the grooves of belt bundles, cause an exhaust gas flow to be turbulent by allowing the exhaust gas to contact and penetrate a wall surface of the exhaust gas path, and cause harmful substances in the exhaust gas to be dissipated by performing oxidization-reduction reaction on the gas with the help of a catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The carrier 1 that supports the catalyst is composed of a cylinder 4 in which the sinuous belt bundle 3 where a belt bundle 8 including a wire mesh or metal-made nonwoven fabric formed into ridgelines 7 extending in the width direction and the grooves 6 between the ridgelines 7 and flatly formed belt bundles 13 are superposed and spirally wound up. A number of exhaust gas paths 5 that communicate from one end to the other along the grooves 6 between the bundle 3 and the bundle 13 are formed in the cylinder 4. The oxidization-reduction reaction is performed on the harmful substances in the exhaust gas G to dissipate them with the help of the catalyst when the exhaust gas G flows under a turbulence in the path 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
