PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two branch solid state image sensor in which the difference of gain between two output amplifiers does not appear in a color image picked up. SOLUTION: The two branch solid state image sensor comprises a plurality of photoelectric conversion elements for storing signal charges corresponding to the quantity of first color light, second color light and third color light received, a charge transfer path 103 for transferring signal charges read out from each photoelectric conversion element to the output end side, and first and second output amplifiers 106, 107 outputting a voltage value signal dependent on the amount of signal charges transferred to the output end side through the charge transfer path 103. A branch section 120 branches the signal charges to the amplifier 107 side when the signal charges transferred through the charge transfer path 103 corresponds to the first color light, branches the signal charges to the amplifier 106 side when the signal charges corresponds to the second color light, and branches the signal charges to the amplifier 107 side when the signal charges corresponds to the third color light.
