A method for controlling a drum-type washing machine according to the present invention comprises: a laundry amount detecting step of detecting the laundry amount of dry clothes for a washing course; a step of performing a first dehydration pattern instead of detecting the laundry amount of wet clothes during a dehydration course if the detected laundry amount value of the dry clothes is smaller than or equal to A in the laundry amount detecting step; and a step of performing a second dehydration pattern after detecting the laundry amount of the wet clothes if the detected laundry amount value of the dry clothes is greater than A in the laundry amount detecting step.
