PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface motor that is excellent in manufacturing yield while preventing exfoliation of a thin-plate laminated plate. SOLUTION: The surface motor includes a laminated steel plate 11, in which lattice-like grooves are provided by laminating a plurality of magnetic thin-plates and which is provided with a plurality of unit laminates 111 laminated by a prescribed number so that side faces of the grooves 4 pass through almost the center of a thickness of any one of laminated steel plates, a platen base 3 to which the laminated steel plate is fixed, and a thickness-direction positioning means provided to the platen base so as to position a thickness direction of the unit laminate for each unit laminate.
