PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system of separating the foreground from the background in a sequence of images.SOLUTION: By acquiring the depth map of a sequence of images and a scene first by a camera, the foreground is separated from the background in the sequence of the images. A group of pixels is obtained on the basis of the depth map. Then, the sequence of images is decomposed into the sparse foreground component and the low-rank background component in accordance with the apparent motion in the sequence of images and the group.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
