PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and an imaging system capable of improving a temporal correlation between a signal for a storage operation for a long period and the signal for the storage operation in a short period. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus has a pixel array arraying a plurality of pixels containing photoelectric conversion sections respectively in the line direction and the row direction and a line selecting section selecting and driving pixels in either line in the pixel array. The imaging apparatus further has a reading section reading and successively outputting the signals for the pixels in each row from the pixels in the line selected by the line selecting section for one-line period for selecting one line by the line selecting section. The reading section conducts a first reading operation reading the signal stored for a first storage period from a period before the one-line period is started to the intermediate period of the one-line period from the pixels and a second reading operation reading the signal stored for a second storage period shorter than the first storage period and the one-line period from the pixels for the one-line period.
