PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance AM receiver that prevents malfunction in a noise canceler by an AM interference signal, and has no audio distortion. SOLUTION: In the AM receiver, there is a hold circuit 18 for dropping an AM interference signal component included in an S meter signal at a pre-stage of the noise canceler 20. The hold circuit 18 has an NPN-type transistor Tr1 to which the output of an amplifier 17 is inputted via a capacitor C1, and a hold capacitor C2 connected to the emitter of the NPN-type transistor Tr1. The output of the hold circuit 18 is inputted to an HPF 24 (high-pass filter) of the noise canceler 20 via a buffer 19. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
