PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device 5 capable of controlling the position of a fixing belt 43 in a width direction, while suppressing the breakage of the fixing belt 43.SOLUTION: A fixing device 5 includes a fixing roller 41 for forming a fixing nip part 33, a tension roller 42 which includes a first end roller part 47a, a central roller part 46, and a second end roller part 47b of three roller parts which are provided along a common axis, have the same outer diameter, and are rotatable independently of each other, the fixing belt 43 which is stretched on at least two rollers which include the fixing roller 41 and the tension roller 42, an end detection sensor 44 which detects the position or displacement of the fixing belt 43 in the width direction, and a frictional force application part 45 which selectively applies a frictional force to the first end roller part 47a or the second end roller part 47b on the basis of the detection result of the end detection sensor 44.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3 |
