The invention relates to a control service enabling the owner of a motor vehicle equipped with a mobile terminal (20) to access at least one function of the motor vehicle (10) by means of the mobile terminal, said service being operated using a server (50) in which records are stored which associate, with each motor-vehicle identifier, information relating to the owner of the vehicle, including the contact details of the owner. According to the invention, the method comprises the steps of: - receiving a request from the server for modifications to the information stored in a record, - searching for a record on the server associated with said request, - reading the contact details of the recorded owner in this record, and sending a message to the owner requesting validation of said request, - in the event of receiving a message from the owner confirming said request, modifying said record. |
