A display substrate, a method for manufacturing the same, and an LCD having the same are provided to minimize the cell gap difference between a display area and a peripheral area, thereby improving the display quality, by forming color filter layers in both the display area and the peripheral area. A base substrate(110) is divided into a display area(DA) for displaying an image and a peripheral area(PA) surrounding the display area. A pixel part is formed on the base substrate correspondingly to the display area. A first color filter layer(150) is formed on the resultant substrate including the pixel part correspondingly to the display area. A second color filter layer(155) is formed above the base substrate correspondingly to the peripheral area.
