The present invention relates to powder for powder metallurgy, and a powder forming method using the same. The powder for powder metallurgy reduces pressure of a press required for a powder forming process, reduces abrasion of a mold, improves productivity, and increases durability of the mold. According to the present invention, the powder comprises: an inner particle; and a particle having a coating layer coated on the surface of the inner particle, wherein the coating layer has lower mechanical strength than the inner particle.
