PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration restraining device for a structure capable of improving responsiveness of an additional vibration system in an initial stage of vibration of the structure, and capable of suitably restraining the vibration after a middle stage of the vibration of the structure.SOLUTION: A vibration restraining device 1 includes a mass body 2 connected to a structure R through an elastic transmission member 3, and a variable attenuation damper 6. In a case where a piston is positioned in an inner section, an attenuation coefficient of the variable attenuation damper 6 is smaller when an inside communication passage is not closed by a closing mechanism than when the inside communication passage is closed. The mass body 2, the transmission member 3 and the variable attenuation damper 6 constitute an additional vibration system, and specifications of the additional vibration system are set so that a natural frequency of the additional vibration system synchronizes with a natural frequency of the structure R when the inside communication passage is closed by the closing mechanism during vibration of the structure R.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
