Coma aberration, occurring when an optical disk tilts in its radial direction, causes the phase shift of tracking signals and reduces the accuracy of tracking control. An optical head comprising an object lens (4) for condensing rays of light onto an optical disk, a light receiving means (8) for receiving light fluxes reflected off the optical disk to provide received light signals, a tracking error signal detecting means (9) for detecting tracking error signals from received light signals, and an optical means (6) for damping quantity of light in the central area of a tracking error signal detecting light flux used for detecting tracking error signals out of reflected light fluxes beamed to the light receiving means (8).
|
