The plug assembly has pins connected to individual insulated wires spread out from the end of the cable. The cable has an insulating sheath (17) which may be gripped by pressure rings (19) on either side of a sealing ring (18). Two clamping half-shells (31,32) may be held in housing half-shells (10,10') and compress the sealing ring onto the outside diameter of the cable.
