<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pallet traversing and lifting type multistory parking apparatus which is simple in structure, can efficiently traverse and lift/lower pallets, and has a reduced installation space of a lifting means in a pit. <P>SOLUTION: The traversing and lifting type multistory parking apparatus has the pallets P11, P21 to P24, and P31 to P34 in one ground stage and three underground stages, and in three rows in a lifting direction. The pallets in the ground stage and in the first and second underground stages each have traversing wheels 211, 212 attached to front and rear portions thereof. The pallets in the first to third underground stages each have a portal rail mounting frame consisting of two supports 111 and a rail mounting member 121 attached to the front portion thereof, and a portal rail mounting frame consisting of two supports 112 and a rail mounting member 122 attached to the rear portion thereof. Further each rail mounting frame has rails 131, 132 attached thereto. The pallets in the lowermost stage (third underground stage) each have a chain, wire, etc., for lifting.
