PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination switch unit in which the whole of keytop is illuminated brightly, and which has a waterproof function and improved reliability. SOLUTION: A switch 21, an LED 22 and a ZD (Zener diode) 23 are mounted on the upper side of a substrate 2, and a lead wire 24 is drawn from the lower side. The substrate 2 is pinched by a resin-made cap 3 and a resin-made case 4, and the jointing face is sealed by resin. A pushing piece 5 molded by a translucent resin is provided in the case 4 and a projection part 5b provided at the lower face of the pushing piece 5 contacts the switch 21. A frame part 6b of a rubber 6 consisting of a translucent elastic resin integrated with a keytop 7 beforehand is covered at the flange part 4e of the case 4. A cover 9 is covered from the top of the rubber 6, the keytop 7 is protruded from the central hole 9a, and a hole 9c is engaged with a protruded part 3b of the cap 3 to join with the cap 3.
